Nothing beats watermelon in the summer! For the love of this refreshing summer fruit, here are four creative ways to eat watermelon. Watermelon can be served in many ways, from delicious salads to smoothies and popsicles. So this weekend, make sure to try one of these four creative ways to eat watermelon.
1. Watermelon and feta cheese.
The watermelon and feta cheese recipe is perfect for lunch time, as it's a light and satisfying meal. Slice the watermelon, place the pieces into a bowl, and then add chunks of feta cheese. Top the watermelon and feta cheese with fresh mint leaves, and then drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette.
2. Watermelon lemonade.
The watermelon lemonade is a new take on the classic drink, and definitely a creative way to enjoy watermelon. How to make watermelon lemonade? You need to chill a sliced and peeled watermelon, and make sure you remove the seeds. Add the watermelon slices in a blender, until you get a watermelon puree. Then add 4 cups of water, lemon juice and sugar (just to add a little bit of sweetness). Blend again until the mixture is smooth. Serve with mint leaves for the perfect refreshing effect!
3. Watermelon granita:
Want to refresh on a hot summer day? This creative way to eat watermelon will give you the needed boost. To make watermelon granita, you'll need to chop 1 watermelon into cubes and make sure it's free of seeds and chilled. You'll also need ¼ cup of sugar, and ½ a cup of lime juice. Blend all ingredients together, and pour them into cups. Put in the freezer, and come back after a couple of hours.
4. Watermelon popsicles.
Need a new way to enjoy watermelon wedges? Then this creative way to eat watermelon is for you. You'll just need slices of watermelon and popsicle sticks. Cut watermelon wedges as you'd normally do, and then take out the triangles insert the popsicle sticks. Now serve it to your young and big guests, and enjoy a fun and happy snack.
