Just received a wedding invitation and wondering what to wear to a winter wedding? Of course, winter is the most romantic time of the year, yet it's not the best when it comes to your ice-cold hands and feet. I understand that you can't wait to go to the wedding party and hit the dance floor, but you definitely don't like the feeling of freezing wearing your evening gown

In order to look fabulous and stay warm, check out the following tips for what to wear to a winter wedding. Also scroll down to see more winter wedding outfit ideas...

1. Skirt and Top

Being a wedding guest doesn't mean you only have to wear a dress, just like everyone else. If you're too cold, don't go with the flow and go for a nice chic ensemble like a full skirt and a sequined top. You will look unique and as chic as ever without being too cold.

2. LBD and Tights

Still don't know what to wear to a winter wedding? You can also make use of your long sleeved little black dress by pairing it up with a sequined jacket and some shimmery tights. Colored, pattered and bedazzled tights are trending this year, so you're in luck. This will keep you both warm and fashionable!

3. Faux Fur Jacket

If you've been thinking how to wear the fur jacket you've had for ages, then now is the perfect time. You can work your fur jacket with a floor length dress and turn heads!

4. Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are also a great alternative to the traditional evening dresses worn at weddings. Make sure to glam up your jumpsuit with the right statement necklace or a belt, along with a statement clutch and shoes.

5. Thermal Top/Turtleneck

undefined

If you can wear a light layer underneath your dress and it won't show, then wear a thermal top to keep you warm during the entire wedding. Avoid wearing thermals with tight dresses. You can also go for something a little more modern like this look above and pair a turtleneck with your gown.

6. Pumps Not Open-Toe

undefined

If you can't decide what type of shoes to wear to a winter wedding, then go for pumps instead of open-toe shoes, so you can wear ballerina socks. Freezing toes are surely not the best thing ever. Glittery tights can also be perfect for this purpose!

7. Capes

Capes are perfect to show a little peek of your dress and keep you warm in the super cold weather. They will also add instant elegance to your look.

8. Dress made from thick material...

Wearing a dress that's velvet or wool or made from any warming thick material is also a smart way to stay warm in a dress at a winter wedding.
