The First Ever DKNY Ramadan 2014 Collection
A while ago, I was doing my usual Instagram catching up, and I stumbled upon some sneak peeks with the hashtag #DKNYRamadan. I noticed that the project included fashion photographer Saeed Al Khaifa, Gulf-based fashion darlings Tamara Al Gabbani and Yalda Golsharifi, but I didn't get what it was all about. Now, a couple of weeks later, #DKNYRamadan is launched, and turns out it's one brilliant move by DKNY; a campaign dedicated to launch their first ever Ramadan capsule collection.
Focused on the region, the #DKNYRamadan campaign features Tamara Al Gabbani and Yalda Golsharifi, who styled several looks, showcasing conservative and modest outfits. Unlike many Ramadan dedicated collections, the #DKNYRamadan doesn't include kaftans or jalabiyas, however, it's full of modern day picks combining DKNY's style with the practicality to be worn during the holy month. The DKNY Ramadan 2014 capsule collection has a monochromatic color palette, mixed with shades of yellow and orange, and it includes easy to wear separates, such as tops, jackets, pants and skirts, that are all very figure flattering. While everything in the #DKNYRamadan look-book looks very modern, I couldn't help but notice the maxi dresses, and how they look very authentic, but with an urban DKNY touch.
It's always great to see international labels realizing that the Middle East is full of great potential, and campaigns such as #DKNYRamadan are a solid proof. Now take a look at the DKNY Ramadan capsule collection, and get inspired for your next Iftar or Sohour gathering look.
