Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection was anything but ordinary and definitely very innovative. The surprise factor was eveident in most, if not all, of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2015 haute couture collection, due to the asymmetric hemlines and a mix between A-lines and pleated volumes. Who said you can’t have a classic look in the front and a party in the back?
I personally loved the monochromatic vibe in Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection. It was like he transformed the boring monochrome into one of the most artistic pieces I have ever seen. Not only so, sequins, fringes, leather, tulle, metallics, satin were all used in one collection, proving that there is at least one thing for every woman out there. Additionally, the collection was clearly aimed for women of all ages, due to the different aged models that made an appearance on Jean Paul Gaultier's runway; from 20's to late 40's, even Naomi Campbell made an appearance.
The downside of the collection would have to be the bride. The bridal look is the one thing we all sit at the edges of our seats waiting to see, and Jean Paul Gaultier’s was a total disappointment. The headpiece, the floral detailing and the tulle did not go together at all. Not to mention the model’s ghostly posing, making the piece the perfect Halloween costume.
