A Variety of Styles at Fashion Forward Dubai (Season2 Day4)
The fourth and last day of Fashion Forward Dubai was also packed with shows with a very interesting variety. Starting off with Aziz Humaid who showcased clean silhouettes during his fashion show. You'd think black and white won't make a statement, but once you see his collection, you'll certainly know he made it happen. Aziz Humaid's pieces flatter a woman's body and my very favorite dress from the collection was the one showcased in the finale; what I like to call the cape dress. The black sunglasses inspired makeup on the models' eyes was a great addition.
Taller Marmo's show was up next and it started off with white looks. They experimented with different fabrics, which I always find very interesting. Some of the looks didn't necessarily flatter the female body, but others were quite the hit. If I had to describe Taller Marmo's show in one sentence it would be New York Fashion Week's simplicity meets London Fashion Week's artsy vibe. They also showcased their very own version of the cape dress, and you can tell it'll be a hit ladies. The collection included a variety of cuts and styles; there's something for almost every occasion in there.
Amira Haroon's fashion show had also a variety of styles, colors, prints and some sexy lace. Did I mention there were cape inspired jackets? Seems like CAPE was theme of the day. My favorite bit about the Amira Haroon collection was her take on the pleated skirt. I loved how she mixed the black and blue pleats! Another thing I enjoyed about Amira Haroon's fashion show were the puffy and well-structured skirts, seriously who wouldn't?
Next up was Endemage, a super feminine brand by two Omani sisters. They started off with light shades such as white, creme, peachy and rose with delicate details, a truly dreamy collection. One theme present? Check! Daily wearable pieces? Check! Oh, and did I mention you can style the pieces according to your own style? Meaning, if you're more of a classic person, you can defintely wear the pieces as is, but if your style is more on the bolder side, then you can take the exact same piece and stack up on accessories, a cool biker jacket or daring heels.
And the most crowded show of the night goes out to Amato by Furne One. I'm not exaggerating but once they opened up the doors, people were pushing to others to get in faster. Anyway, now back to Amato by Furne One's show, where it was a couture wonderland. The moment the show started, he took us into a magical place starting off with the music, lights, setup, hair, makeup and of course the entire collection. Each and every detail about the collection was very well calculated. Artsy haute couture at its best! Cool addition to Amato's show were the face masks and the teddy bears which were part of the backside of most dresses. My personal favorites were the shorter asymmetric dresses with tulle dangling from both hip sides.
Fashion Forward's season 2 ended with Zayan the Label. Last season she put quite the show and I was really excited to see another play kind of show, but that didn't happen. However and as usual she paid attention to the smallest details. The first outing included six models in white robes, who revealed identical mini dresses with the main fabrics and prints of the collection on them. Did I mention that there was one on each side of the runway, real grass strewn with white roses? Now focusing more on the collection, of course the word flirty and playful were the first to come to mind. Trends such as ruffles, peplum, pleated skirts, cape inspired pieces and lace to mention a few. The "Dream a little. Love a lot." collection had a "Kiss it Better" dusty pink, coral and metallic silver lips motif in both print and embroidery present throughout the collection.
