Few Hours in My Fashionable Life
Three fashionable elements in this look for today: The 7/8 jeans, brogues and the goldish jacket. This pair of Celine jeans are my favorite. They're comfortable, easy to wear and so trendy for the past two seasons. 7/8 jeans did a big come back on the fashion scene. The YSL brogues, I have them since five or six years ago...and still people look at them with a question mark in their eyes. I like their vintage aspect and, despite the killer heels, they're easy to wear. My "piece de resistance" is the 3/4 goldish jacket by Zadig&Voltaire.
I love the fact that I can give it this cool edge, even though gold can make you look overdress in general, but this one has the right mix of Chanel style and rock'n roll attitude. The bag couldn't be other than Alexa by Mulberry. It had to add a "city" sense to the look and make it really look dynamic. I couldn't help adding few gold chains designed by my creative sister Roula Raad. Dressed so fashionably, I headed to Al Arabiya studios to present my weekly fashion segment on the morning show. The chosen topic for this week is grooming for men. Whiskers, beards, haircuts, faces shapes...you name it. Few practical advices for Al Arabiya gentlemen viewers and I'm out to make sure that the News presenters are well dressed and groomed before going on air. A quick meeting to discuss the makeup requirements under some new lighting, a little chat with one of the presenters to boost his energy and ego, a longer one with another presenter to discuss her new look and show her the mood board done for her, quick coffee break with two colleagues discussing couple issues and marital challenges, back to office to send some mails, convince a male presenter to cut his hair, explain how wearing the right underwear can make a difference in a woman's look, finalize a makeup chart with makeup artists for a new presenter on air, lunch break, actually not really break as I was harassed by Whatsapp messages from a presenter sending me few pics to choose which style suits her best and on and on and on...Late afternoon, drove back home with one thing in my mind, lie down and think of nothing. Managed to do so... partially.
My walking closet was a mess and had to put some order in it. Mother always said "wash your face you never know who kisses it, tidy your place you never know who visits it". And now, writing my blog, later updating my Facebook, then AlArabiya style Facebook page, then starting to prepare next topic for next week fashion segment. Voila, that summs my day. Fashionably yours.
