Maison Moschino

Who would have thought that the second oldest railway station in Italy could become a fashionable masterpiece that people rave about?

One hundred and seventy two years ago, passengers entered the doors of this neoclassical railway station to leave Milan and head to Monza. Back then in 1840, Monte Grappa 12 was considered to be one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, and just last year in 2011,Monte Grappa 12 re-opened its doors—not for passengers, but instead to welcome fashionistas and fashion lovers who enter in a world they would never want to leave.

The tears that once were shed as lovers said their goodbyes in this railway station are now turned into excitement while witnessing the stylish grandeur displayed throughout Moschino’s revamped building. Inspired by a visionary and contemporary fairytale theme, Maison Moschino is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after hotels in Milan. Just like a dive under the sea with The Little Mermaid, or a jump into Alice’s rabbit hole, Maison Moschino is the result of a creative collaboration between the brand’s Creative Department lead by Rossella Giardini, to produce a drea mily themed 63 rooms and 2 suits that are spread over 4 floors.

Relive the surrealistic fantasies of your childhood; the memories that take us back to the days when we used to imagine a colourful, comfortable fairytale that Moschino is now calling its Maison, with a 5 star restaurant, a serene Health Club and Spa that combine to create a truly dream-like world. What brought the hotel all together is its focus on fashion, and the fairytale theme where fashion leads and fantasies come true. Guests can even select which themed room they prefer: the Ivy Room, The Forrest Room, Alice’s Room, or the Little Red Riding Hood Room, and the list of choices goes on and on, creating a real life fairy tale in the middle of Milan.

The hotel, or should I say fairytale, is a dream destination that I have planned to dive into in my 2012 New Year’s resolutions, and should definitely be at the top of your go-to list too.  We rarely get the chance to indulge in a real life fairytale, especially one that also happens to be so fashionable, playful and elegant. I’m taking the lead... are you?
