Heba Elawadi, Hebz fashion designer and boutique owner, believes that fashion is an expression, which reflects people's personalities if they're going out on a casual day, or even on what they decide to wear on their wedding day. Her style can be described as rock 'n' roll chic, with Rihanna being her style icon, and Balmain, Saint Laurent and Chanel being her favorite brands. Find out how Heba Elawadi's personal style was reflected on her big day, as she took us through all the bits and pieces of her bridal look.

When did you start your bridal gown shopping journey?

I started looking six months before my big day! My marriage happened quite fast and I was so lucky I found my wedding dress at first sight!

How many wedding gowns have you tried on before finding 'The One'?

My husband proposed when I was in London with my family for summer, and after a few weeks of him proposing, I went to look at wedding dresses before the new collection would come in so I could see both collections for more choices. I started at Browns Bride with my mum. She says it was the third dress I tried on. She took pictures and sent it to my sister, who instantly said along with my mum that they knew they had seen the dress was made for me, but I still wanted to explore. I created a folder on my laptop with all the styles of wedding and couture dresses I liked, then short listed them to the ones I loved! Meanwhile I went bridal gown shopping. To every 100 dresses I had seen I liked about three, but nothing was as nice as the one we all originally loved, so we were already comparing the dresses with the one we had already loved. Browns Bride called me and said that the designer of the gown I liked, Peter Langner, was having a trunk show and he would personally be there, so I could meet him and have a chat with him. I liked that bond, it gave my dress more meaning. I met Peter which was an amazing experience and he sketched me in my dress! So it was such a beautiful memory I still hold.

I came to Cairo with my dress shortly before my wedding and felt that it was plain, as I was just about to have a huge wedding, I wanted my dress to feel just as grand! So I went to my favorite couture designer Hany El Behairy, and he instantly said that this couldn't be MY wedding dress. He added his touches and added Swarovski all over the skirt petals and gave my skirt more volume. He also added crystal straps to the corset, a design on the bust, and bling to my veil in a subtle yet elegant way. Hany made the dress look like a princess' dream dress! He finished it for me in no time, which almost felt like what the fairy God mother did with Cinderella! I was extremely impressed!

You knew you found 'The One' when...

I looked back at the picture of the dress while I was dress hunting. It was the right base for me. It was actually two pieces, a corset and a skirt. It was magical! The touches of a couturier added to the dress made me know it was 'The One.'

Tell us all about your wedding day look.

I had the best hairdresser in the world do my hair, the phenomenal Mohamed Al Sagheer. I was so confident having him doing my hair, I didn't need a trial. With makeup as well I had Shady from Al Sagheer Salons, which didn't need more than a chat. Hairdressers and makeup artists are artists. They're a big part of your day. They ask a few questions and talk you through their vision to make you feel as amazing as you should. My dress was ivory so the makeup was shimmery. The hair was up and voila I was a ready bride! I borrowed a sapphire diamonds set for something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Your all time favorite celebrity bride is ... , were you inspired by her?

Victoria Beckham. I have always been a huge fan of hers since I was a child and I have so many of her books including one just about her wedding. It majorly influenced and inspired me with the gold I injected into my wedding theme.

Did you always know how you wanted to look on your wedding day?

I had an idea, but knowing it's a one time experience you want everything to be perfect! When my sister was helping me create my dream wedding, we knew what was my style. Knowing how you want to look on your wedding day is also influenced by the mood you set at the wedding. It was perfection.

Looking back at your wedding photos, is there anything you would have done differently?

Nothing. I had my dream wedding exactly how I wanted it. My wedding planner, Dina Zaki, gave me everything I wanted. All the small details were taken into consideration! It's a huge event and needs major planning weather its a small or big wedding!

Share your tips for brides-to-be shopping for wedding gowns.

It's about YOU. Wear what makes you comfortable and what suits your body shape. If you're not convinced 100 percent with the dress don't buy it! Lastly, I'd like to add that I only lasted two hours with my heels before I changed into my trainers, so make sure you have flats with you!
