Tamara Al Gabbani, fashion designer, TV presenter, model, actress and basic wonder woman has continued to captivate audiences across the UAE and Gulf regions with her warm personality, stunning style and inspiring initiatives. Of Arab-Serbian descent, Tamara grew up in the cosmopolitan city that is Dubai throughout the 80's and 90's. She went to an International school there, and then continued her further education in London. She was to spend her college years in London studying Finance and Management.
On your screens
Her first introduction, and literal thrust into the limelight, came in the role of TV Presenter for a popular broadcast station in Dubai; With her vibrant spirit, strong character and enthusiastic passion, it wasn't long before Tamara was found hosting the nation's most coveted events. As the 'face' of Dubai's International Film Festival, her gorgeous features were additionally highlighted; she also hosted the Gulf Film Festival, Dubai World Cup, Rugby 7’s, Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Fashion Week and many other key attractions in Dubai’s social calendar. Tamara, once labelled the ''UAE's gem of a talent'' even pioneered a new wave in local TV broadcasting by producing the first ever 'special' (in-depth coverage) of film festivals in the region, compiling a portfolio of interviews with the likes of George Clooney, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Paulo Coelho, Steve Hickner and many more international celebrities.
The bigger screen
In combination with her love of acting, Tamara received a number of awards in acknowledgment of her efforts and dedication toward supporting and propelling Dubai's film industry. She continues to take part in a number of acting seminars, and even trained with Hollywood Acting Coach Michelled Danner. To exhibit her talent, she performed several times to a public audience in The Entertainment Showcase. Her most p owerful performance was playing the role of 'Lisa' in a scene out of the acclaimed film 'Girl Interrupted'. She also played the role of 'Andrea' in a scene from film 'The Devil Wears Prada'.
Intrinsically creative, Tamara always looked the part, bang on trend and fearless in the face of fashion, promoting up and coming designers by wearing their creations on screen, as well as establishing Dubai's popular 'House of Glamo'. This gained her an impressive following, with fans keen to see what she would be wearing next, and soon demanding of Tamara to host her own style show. In the wake of an accomplished presence in Dubai entertainment, an expanding fan base and heightened awareness, Tamara decided to tap into her mother's impeccable style, channelling her efforts into establishing her own clothing line: Tamara Al Gabbani. A stunning collection of evening gowns, her mixed Arab-European heritage is clearly reflected in all of her designs.
